Fleet East

Stephen Parker, Sharyn Wheale and Jonathan Wright are your Fleet East Conservative councillors. They communicate regularly with residents through inTouch and are often out knocking on doors to hear residents views.

Stephen Parker

Stephen was first elected to Hart in 1996, although served a four year stint on the London Borough of Haringey in the seventies. He also attends meetings of the Fleet Pond Society committee, and that of the Friends of Ancells Farm.

He first moved to Fleet in 1989 as part of a company move. In short order became involved in the Ancells Farm Residents Association, now disbanded. His wife Angela for some years ran the cat rehoming service for the local RSPCA branch, and became active in Fleet Baptist Church.

He was previously a credit manager for a number of IT companies, and after that was a locum sub-postmaster for a number of postmasters both within Hart and beyond.

He represents Hart residents and their interests outside the local area, including chairing the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Government Association as well as serving on a number of groupings of councils with similar interests. He also chairs the Planning Advisory Service Governance Board on behalf of the national Local Government Association; the PAS is responsible for providing training and assistance to councils engaged in both local plans and development control.
